To make a classic homemade cranberry sauce with a twist using blood orange juice, follow these simple steps:

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh cranberries

1/2 cup light brown sugar sugar

Zest of 1 blood orange

Juice of 1 blood orange

Instructions:

1. Rinse the cranberries and pick out any stems or bad berries.

2. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, blood orange juice, blood orange zest and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.

3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.

4. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and to help the cranberries break down evenly.

5. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.

6. Transfer the cranberry sauce to a serving dish and refrigerate until ready to serve.

This blood orange cranberry sauce will add a unique and citrusy flavor to your holiday table!

Notes: You can add more sugar if you like your cranberry sauce a little sweeter and a cinnamon stick for a little spice!
